I read someplace that currently in the Philippines, most if not all business are small and medium enterprises (SMEs). And that a big majority of jobs being created in the country is that which is being generated by SMEs.
And with that idea, I remember a quote from Ross Perot, in which he said “Most new jobs won’t come from our biggest employers. They will come from our smallest. We’ve got to do everything we can to make entrepreneurial dreams a reality.”
Yes a quote from Henry Ross Perot, businessman, and a previous candidate for the US Presidency in 1992 and 1996. And that is what we seeing happening today.
People of the Philippines have always been creative, they are hardworking, they hardly complain, well sometimes they do. They have pure artistic genius.
And they have so much potential, untapped potential.
And that is why I believe that Filipinos should study hard and work hard. Even work for big companies and several companies. Work for great companies. But in the back of their minds, more of them should also pursue their creativeness, their individuality, their innovativeness and their strive to achieve more.
They should be entrepreneurs when the need and the opportunity arises. They can either do so by themselves, or they can build businesses with their family, or put up one together their spouse, or even with their high school, college or work friends.
Every Filipino should be on the look out for a need that needs to be filled. Do their homework and go for it. For one can never know unless they try. And a business doesn’t have to be started big, for most of the big ones started really small.
Although I know starting, building, operating and running a business wouldn’t exactly be a walk in the park. For every business endeavor needs commitment, hardwork and sacrifice. But if you believe you have what it takes. Just do it.
